Aboriginal Head Start Program

The Maajishkatoong Zoong Mnidoowin (Ojibway for Building Strong Spirits) program is an early childhood education program for Aboriginal children between the ages of 2½ and 6 years of age. The program is offered at four sites in Toronto. The program is governed by empowered community members who sit on the Parent Council.


The Aboriginal Head Start program offers:

  •  Preparation for the school setting
  •  Aboriginal Culture and Traditions
  •  Health, Nutrition and Physical Development
