TORONTO ABORIGINAL CARE TEAMThe Toronto Aboriginal Care Team (TACT) offers non-residential addiction and mental health case management services to Aboriginal people in Toronto. Addictions come in many forms. We strive to provide quality support and referral services to people struggling with alcohol, drug, gambling and sexual forms of addiction, as well as to their families and support networks. We coordinate with existing community services and carefully consider your needs and goals to support a holistic path to healing and recovery. Who do we serve? We serve First Nations, Inuit and Métis people in Toronto who are seeking help with addictions and mental health issues. Our focus is on youth and adults of all ages, but we support a whole family approach whenever possible. Clients may be homeless and severely disadvantaged, but we also support people who have jobs and homes. Addictions and mental health issues affect everyone. Philosophy
We respect the need for Aboriginal cultural approaches to healing as well as the value of modern medical and therapeutic resources. We provide services that address a continuum of healing needs, rather than looking at different parts of the whole person separately. We understand the need to address the underlying causes of addictions and mental illness, rather than just the symptoms. We work to restore long-term balance and harmony within the individual, family and community. What do we do?Our services include:
