THE CENTRE FOR NATIVE CHILD AND FAMILY WELL BEING

In 2008, we moved to our new location at 30 College Street, just west of Yonge Street.

30 College St CU

We have brought many of our programs under one roof with the goal of offering a seamless and integrated system of services to our community. We look forward to the Centre for Native Child and Family Well Being becoming a focal point, a beacon of urban Native culture, and a source of pride.

The design of the Centre honours Native culture, in all its visual wealth. As recognized “stewards” of the land, we have been keen to incorporate the best environmental design and technology to not only offset the fact that the location is a heat island in the heart of Toronto but to also to acknowledge a commitment to holding a strong and positive relationship to the earth.

By incorporating both tangible and less tangible elements of earth, water, air and fire we believe we have gone beyond the cliché so often seen in designs influenced by culture. Indeed we hope we have created a design that will enrich the Toronto landscape, make a strong environmental statement, honour Native culture, and enable us to deliver our services in an effective and efficient way.
